Built On A Foundation Of Trust
Portland was founded in 1988 by partners Nico Heyns and Helenus Scholtz as a property development company. Today, Portland Group is one of the leading suppliers of aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and hollow-core slabs in the Western Cape , with operations spanning Durbanville, Saldanha Bay, and Paarl.

Environment
Portland’s primary quarry, located in Durbanville, Cape Town, is situated between the Diep River and the Tygerberg mountain range. We’re committed to protecting the environment, reducing water, air, and ground pollution, and ensuring sustainable management of natural resources for the future.

We are committed to identifying and reducing risk to ensure no one experiences any loss. Portland Quarry operates under the Mine Health and Safety Act, guiding our Loss Control, Safety, and Occupational Health program for every employee.
